Maker Camp – For kids who love to build and code

Don't miss out on this FREE summer camp. Enrolment has been extended to Thursday, June 14th for students entering Grade 7 who want to develop their technology skills and learn code.

Maker Camp Camp is hosted by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and is led by technology experts, over two 2-week sessions. Students will work in groups on a variety of projects connected to coding and building. Literacy and numeracy connections will be emphasized to help students deepen their understanding of their importance in everyday activities.

Programs are offered at three sites:
• Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School
• Cathedral High School
• St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School

Camps are offered over two sessions at each location:
• Session 1: Monday, July 9-Friday, July 20, 2018, 8:30am-12:30pm
• Session 2: Monday, August 13-Friday, August 24, 2018, 8:30am-12:30pm

Cost: Free to HWCDSB students entering Grade 7 in September 2018

The camp includes all materials and supplies.

Topics covered in the camps include:

Coding

Students will code to solve problems and obtacles

Building
Students will work with a building expert to design and build a small project with the use of simple tools

Programs are contingent upon enrolment.
